ACGI Association Anywhere + Education Harvester Single Sign-on

Overview

The Education Harvester single sign-on (SSO) option is available for speakers.

IMPORTANT NOTE

We don't recommend an integration for this module because it's not necessary and it can add administrative challenges for the client. In lieu of an integration, speakers would be sent an invitation link to log in directly to Education Harvester.

Description

The user account originates in the Education Harvester; however, the membership system remains the source of truth for speaker data. A user must have an account in ACGI Association Anywhere and the member ID must be stored in their Education Harvester user profile to log in.

Speaker User Experience:

  • User must first exist in the Education Harvester as a speaker assigned to a presentation with member ID filled in on the user profile
  • User starts on the Education Harvester login page. Typically, clients add introductory text to this page
  • User clicks 'Login' and is redirected to the ACGI Association Anywhere login page to enter their login credentials
  • ACGI Association Anywhere verifies the login credentials and passes Education Harvester an authentication token
    • If authentication is unsuccessful, a unique error message will display depending on the type of error
  • Education Harvester checks in the user list to confirm there is a speaker with that member ID
    • If yes, the user is redirected back to the Education Harvester speaker landing page
    • If no, the user will see a blue screen with an error code or another error message
  • The user's profile fields are updated upon login, if applicable
  • Troubleshooting:
    • First, confirm the user is logging in with the member account matching the member ID you’ve assigned in their user profile
    • Try to recreate the issue; make sure to use an incognito window
    • Please submit a ticket to integrationservices@gocadmium.com with steps to recreate, username/password, and error message. For security reasons, you should request the user temporarily reset their password to ‘Test123’, so they don’t have to provide their actual password.

Required Credentials

We need the following for all integrations (repeat or new):

  • vendorEventID

If new, we also need:

  • vendorUsername
  • vendorPassword
  • auth endpoint

Field Mapping

The following fields are mapped from ACGI Association Anywhere to Education Harvester. Fields are updated upon login.

The client should NOT create a 'Profile' task for speakers. The end-user should not edit their profile fields directly in Education Harvester, because this data will come from ACGI Association Anywhere. If the end-user does so, it will be overwritten when the user logs in next.
